Leyland Festival 2011
A family fun weekend at this year's Leyland Festival...

On 9th & 10th July Leyland festival attracted over 12,000 people to Worden Park to celebrate the diamond jubilee of the park.
Supported by a wide range of local businesses, voluntary and community organisations, the festival offered a weekend of events and activities for families to enjoy.

The event included a classic vehicle parade; children’s activities, including FREE arts workshops and rides on the Leyland model steam railway.

Even the family pets enjoyed the day out at the “Paws in the Park” fun dog show.

A classic vehicle display, craft amd community stalls, competitions including the “Lancashire Bushtucker Trials” and children’s fancy dress, all added to the weekend fun.
Visitors also had a choice of entertainment from local dance groups and joined in with the Zumba and street dancing performances by Dance Talent Studio.The rock/pop/indie bands provided some great entertainment or you could relax to the sound of the Leyland Brass Band performance on the Sunday. Refreshments were on offer at the Beer Festival in Worden Arts Centre, which also hosted a life-like model railway exhibition. South Ribble Museum also held a special exhibition about
the history of Leyland festival.

The Leyland Car, Truck & Bus Extravaganza brought all sorts of interesting vehicles to the British Commercial Vehicle Museum over the Festival weekend.
