Delia sells a full range of christening wear, fascinators, tiaras and can do all manner of alterations to most items of clothing.

Leyland connection:
Delia grew up in Leyland attending St Catherine’s and St Mary’s schools. She had dance lessons at 3 local dance schools and was a member of St Ambrose Players for 8 years and although she’s now moved to Oswaldtwistle I still visit family and socialise in Leyland.

About the business:
Delia sells a wide range of christening wear and children’s formal wear, offering a selection of accessories to go with the outfits such as frilly knickers, socks, cardigans and baby shawls. Along side this I have a selection of fascinators and tiaras in up to date styles and colours. Every range is priced affordably and if given plenty of notice Delia can get full sets of matching outfits in different sizes for weddings and formal functions.

Most proud of:
Delia is proud of her sewing skills which enable her to offer a very efficient alteration service keeping permanently low while everything around us goes up, enabling my customers to revive their clothes and not throw them away and therefore helping to save the planet.

Interesting:
The funniest thing I find is the reasons people give me for not being able to sew a button on. I say asking me to sew a button on is like asking Gordon Ramsey to make you a piece of toast!

Favourite place:
It would have been the charity furniture shop, as I don’t think we’ve had anything like as helpful as this for young people setting up home in the area, it has to be Help the Aged.

Celebrity connection:
We haven’t had any famous faces, but I would welcome all handsome Hollywood actors.

One wish:
If there was one wish it would be as far as the market goes, a bigger stall (no extra rent) please.

Finishing touch:
I am a very flexible seamstress due to my 35 years of dance training but I don’t sew leather or knitwear so please don’t ask me to mend your shoes!
